NIKKI REED - REED IS TRAVELLING FOR CHRISTMAS

TWILIGHT star NIKKI REED has no idea where she'll be spending Christmas Day - because she set off on a backpacking adventure at the beginning of December and only had her first week planned.
A keen traveller, the actress loves to take off for Europe in between movies - and she never really knows where her journeys will take her.
Speaking just before she took off on her latest adventure, she said, "I'm really good at buying one-way tickets to different countries. I'm going to Greece and Switzerland, I think.
"I've stayed in hostels, I've backpacked... I don't, like, go with $3 in my pocket and the outfit I'm wearing... I don't actually backpack, like, five miles a day. I have water and food.
"I know for the first week where I'm gonna live."

"How have I changed?” Nikki Reed asks me. “I’m curious.” Reed her self hasn’t changed in the year since we met to discuss the first Twilight movie. She is the same smart, outspoken, engaging girl she was when we met in September of 2008. But things around the actress, who plays Ros alie, sister of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattin son), in the hugely successful movie series, sure have changed. When we met in Sep tember of last year we met sans any han dlers in a Hollywood coffee house. A year plus later and we meet at the Four Seasons where I am greeted in the check-in suite by a swarm of industry-ites and there is as much security floating around the hotel as if Obama was in the building.
It’s strangely surreal, especially since at the media screening of Twilight: New Moon the night before, journalists were wanded every time they went in and out of the theater and all cell phones were banned. “Have you ever seen anything like this?” Reed wonders.
No, not really. But then Twilight is a new kind of phenomenon, combining the devotion of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fans with teen heartthrobs that send fans into pal pitations a la New Kids on The Block. Add in the ability of fans, thanks to the internet, to monitor their heroes 24 hours a day and you have a full-fledged mania. It’s an odd world in which to find Reed, an actress who is sincere when she says she cares more about the work than stardom. And though she admits to finding the attention difficult she has a very clear head about it, something probably helped by the fact that she has already found herself the lightning rod of attention once before, when the superb Thirteen, a movie she co-penned and co-starred in, won praise for its gritty realistic look at the lives of teenagers in the ’90s. ...  What happens when you get Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, and Jackson Rathbone in the same room? Well, a lot of laughs. But as the actors who play Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper Cullen in the upcoming Twilight Saga: New Moon revealed to flare.com, there’s one thing they take very seriously: their roles as the big screen’s hottest vampires. —L.L.
FLARE: Jackson, the new movie opens up with your big scene and it’s very intense. How did you prepare for that kind of intensity right off the top?
Jackson: I was lucky to be coming off another film where I was doing a lot of kung fu training and fight training, so I was kind of in the mood to keep fighting. And it was a lot of fun to figure out the choreography with the stunt coordinators and everyone. You know, emotionally I was holding back everything in Twilight and in New Moon you get to see me kind of let it go.
FLARE: Did you perform your own stunts then?
Jackson: It’s mostly me. When you actually see the guy hit the piano, that is not me, that was the stunt guy. They wouldn’t let me break the piano. I kind of wanted to, but at the same time I don’t really condone the destruction of baby grands!
FLARE: How did each of you prepare for these roles? Because you can study vampires and stuff, but these vampires are so modern and so unique…
Nikki: I’m sure I can speak for everyone when I say we’ve all seen a vampire or two throughout the years, but we couldn’t use them as an example because we’re not playing, like hidden creatures. Stephanie wrote really unconventional vampires. We co-exist with the rest of the world, so I think the biggest challenge was – with all of the hair and makeup and wardrobe that makes you feel like you stand out so much – finding a way to blend in with all of that. ...
